Hanna Ren (伴名 練), born in 1988, is a Japanese novelist and anthologist hailing from Kochi Prefecture. His works primarily fall into the genres of horror and science fiction. He graduated from the Faculty of Literature at Kyoto University, where he was a member of the 4th Kyoto University Science Fiction Study Group during his studies.
Ren's writing career began in 2010 while he was still a university student. He won the short story prize at the 17th Japan Horror Novel Awards, organized by Kadokawa Shoten, with his work "Tojyu". In October of the same year, he revised and retitled his award-winning work to "Shoujo Kinku" (Girl's Prohibited Area) and published it alongside a near-future science fiction novella, "Chocolate blood, biscuit hearts." This marked his debut as a novelist in the Kadokawa Horror Bunko
While his works are penned in Japanese, his name and works may be known in other languages as well. With his influence and talent, his stories can captivate readers across various genres.
